Interviews, personality assessments, and skills assessments are just a few utilizations of this complex topic, which can have far reaching legal and organizational ramifications. This presentation is designed to quickly bring you up to speed on several critical topics that are important to assessing your current and potential workforce. These topics include: defining “psychometrics”, different aspects of test validation, the importance of test reliability, common measurement and statistical metrics involved with assessment, and daily issues involved with applying assessment in the workplace. Finally, methods for converting abstract psychometrics into concrete dollar amounts will be discussed, with a specific focus towards understanding the return on investment that can come from reducing turnover or increasing performance with the help of a pre-employment assessment.
