Cost: $50 Not an expert in job analysis, but wanting to understand how to characterize what it takes to be a successful employee within your organization? O*Net can help. While we all understand the importance of clearly defining the characteristics an employee and/or applicant must have to be successful on the job, it can be difficult, costly, and time consuming to conduct a reliable, valid job analysis that contributes to this understanding. So what can we do? We can leverage the Department of Labor’s O*Net (Occupational Information Network) to get a better understanding of what characteristics are important to include when outlining the characteristics of a successful employee and when creating a job description. This session will be Part 1 of a two part journey into understanding and exploring the benefits that O*Net offers to all HR Professionals for FREE! What will participants learn? 1) How an understanding of job related characteristics can increase the potential for applicant and employee success. 2) How O*Net defines various KSAO’s. 3) How to get started with using O*Net to drive job analysis, job descriptions, and more.
